When traveling out of the United States I am always put off by the amount of negative influences the western world has had on other cultures. The harsh realities of advertising and traditions confront my childhood perceptions of ancient cultural sights.  When photographing the ruins or accomplishments of a civilization I try to show the people who I imagined to be there, the actual descendants, creators and holders of the culture.
